The objective of this project was to reverse engineer a product with complex surfaces to understand its form, parts, mechanisms and assembly techniques in SolidWorks. The SAYL chair is an iconic office chair designed by Fuseproject for Herman Miller and I decided to build the model in SolidWorks at a 1:1 scale while adding some minor changes to the design while still keeping its original form intact. The resulting product is designed to fit the manufacturing standards.
